it's been too long friends. apologies for the silence. it wasn't intentional.
we've been traveling a little and spent the last week and a half with my parents. I, slightly nervously, left mischaela with my parents while both my husband and I joined in some overnight work meetings for 3 days. this is the first time mischaela has been apart from both of us. ever. she's not even two, so it's really not that big of a deal, but the first time always seems a little nerve wracking. turned out mischaela had a great time with my parents, my parents loved every minute they got to spend with her, and we skyped her in between meetings to soothe my nerves.
and there's nothing like coming home from a few days away to the excited embrace of an almost-two year old. wiggling from joy in my arms while hugging my neck and exclaiming, ma ma!
if I could just bottle that elation to sniff on those you don't remember what it was like to be 14, MOoOOoM days, I'd be set.

Hey! I just left Charlie with my family in Alberta for 4 days but I was UBER busy and didn't even notice, yea right! When I did talk to him it was awful, he is too little to comprehend and he was touching the screen. But other than that he had a great time! And my folks enjoyed it so much. And the hug at the end of it all made it worthwhile!
